I did this while studying Media Arts at RMIT in 2006. Tamagotchi wasn't really a 'thing' any more by 2006, but for some reason it (along with Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter) inspired me to make this weird cartoon. It has nothing to do with any real life heartbreak, or any real life events, except perhaps those old news stories about kids getting super upset when their Tamagotchis died.
